Ali Larter Obsessed

Larter, famous for her whipped cream-bikini role in Varsity Blues and her acting in the sci-fi television series on NBC “Heroes,” plays a woman with a dark obsession. The new flick, directed by Steve Shill and co-starring Beyoncé Knowles and Idris Elba, involves a bizarre love triangle between three gorgeous actors; Larter, a young temp with a twisted obsession for her boss, Larter’s boss, Elba and Elba’s wife, Knowles. Larter summed up the plot as an “imaginary office romance with disastrous consequences.”

“Obsessed,” set in a world where technology bends the traditional rules of courtship, is a lover’s worst nightmare. Cell phone calls made after dark and personal e-mails allow people to stay in touch outside formal settings and creep into one’s personal life.

“We now have modern technology and many new ways to have an affair,” said Larter. “Is it appropriate to send a personal e-mail to your boss? If someone sends you an i-Chat invitation at 11 p.m., is it appropriate to answer? That’s so interesting. People spend more time at the office than with their family. [“Obsessed”] draws on the fears and jealousies that arise from the imbalance.”
Larter’s character, Lisa Sheridan, is hunting for husbands, it turns out that Knowles’ character, Sharon, does not have to question her man’s fidelity. The hook of the movie is that Lisa Sheridan is so desperately in love that she fabricates a steamy affair with her boss.

“Lisa Sheridan is delusional, a bit of a psychopath. But you can’t play her that way,” said Larter. “There are reasons, past experiences, for why she does what she does.” She really gets lost in her psychosis and [the audience] must understand why she went down this path of believing one thing when another is probably true. [The audience] gets to see the three different points of view of people in the same situation.”

She thrives on her work, even when the most difficult aspect of playing Sheridan’s character onscreen was “hopping from one character to the next” while shooting “Heroes” and “Obsessed” simultaneously, a routine which took “months of working 12 hours a day.” Hot Indie News

A native of Cherry Hill, New Jersey, Ali began modeling at age 13 and traveled the world before moving to Los Angeles to study acting. Her first professional acting job was a role on the television series "Chicago Sons" (1997). She received her breakthrough in the high school football drama Varsity Blues (1999) which included her infamous whipped cream bikini scene. Roles in the horror films House on Haunted Hill (1999) and Final Destination (2000) further transitioned her career as an actress.

Acting alongside Colin Farrell, Larter starred in the Western comedy, American Outlaws (2001) which performed poorly at the box office. That year, she also starred as "Brooke Taylor Windham" in the comedy Legally Blonde (2001) with Reese Witherspoon.

Not happy with how things were going, Larter moved to New York in 2002 to reassess her life and career. She reprized her role as "Clear Rivers" in the sequel Final Destination 2 (2003) for which she received star billing. A year later, she made a cameo appearance as herself on the pilot to the HBO comedy drama "Entourage" (2004) and starred in Three Way (2004) as "Isobel Delano". She had a role in A Lot Like Love (2005) as "Gina".

Larter moved back to Los Angeles in 2006 where she auditioned for a role in the NBC sci-fi drama "Heroes" (2006/II). The pilot premiered on September 25, 2006 to successful ratings and many critics declaring it "the new "Lost" (2004)". The series ran for a total of 77 episodes in 4 Seasons when it was canceled due to diminishing ratings and high production costs. There has been interest in a mini-series or a movie to wrap up story lines.

During her time on "Heroes" (2006/II), Larter made several appearances on film. The first was the Bollywood film Marigold (2007) where she received a seven-figure salary. The movie was met with primarily negative reviews. She also starred in Resident Evil: Extinction (2007), part 3 of the popular film franchise based on the Capcom video games. She played "Claire Redfield", based on the video game character of the same name. The movie was a box office success tripling its production budget, albeit being a critical flop. Larter also appeared in the caveman comedy Homo Erectus (2007) which was released direct-to-DVD. The film co-starred Hayes MacArthur, an actor whom she was engaged to marry in December 2007.

In 2009, Larter starred opposite Beyoncé Knowles and Idris Elba in the thriller Obsessed (2009). The film opened at number one at the box office but was met with negative reviews, with some critics comparing it to Fatal Attraction (1987). It was also this year that Larter and MacArthur married in a small ceremony in Maine, among the guests was Larter's close friend, Amy Smart.

She reprises her role as "Claire Redfield" in Resident Evil: Afterlife (2010), directed by Paul W.S. Anderson.

Rose McGowan

Rose Arianna McGowan (born September 5, 1973) is an actress and singer. She is known for her role as Paige Matthews in The WB Television Network supernatural drama series Charmed. She played Ann-Margret alongside Jonathan Rhys Meyers as Elvis Presley in the CBS mini-series Elvis. In 2008, she was guest programmer and co-host of TCM's film-series program, The Essentials.

She made her film debut in the 1992 comedy Encino Man, where she played a small role. Her performance as Amy Blue in the 1995 dark comedy film The Doom Generation brought her to a wider attention, and received an Independent Spirit Award nomination. McGowan then appeared in the 1996 hit horror film Scream and starred alongside Ben Affleck in the 1997 coming-of-age feature Going All the Way. Later, she appeared in several Hollywood films, including Devil in the Flesh (1998), Jawbreaker (1999), Ready to Rumble (2000), Monkeybone (2001) and The Black Dahlia (2006). Alex & Holly Valance Pics & Info


Alex was spotted with his girlfriend Holly Valance as they arrived at the Melbourne airport on Thursday. They plan to spend the next few weeks dividing their time between Melbourne (where Holly’s family is) and Sydney (where Alex hails).

This past weekend they both partied at Alumbra at Central Pier at the Docklands to celebrate Holly’s little sister’s 21st birthday.

This photo was taken during the holiday season last year when they Alex was struggling as an actor and told a reporter, “We just got back – we’re here for summer, and the beach.”
